The Richardson House 1907
Lane Cove NSW 1990 the Richardson house was being demolished inside were treasures to be buried in the large dumpster out the front. How could these treasures be preserved we pondered as we stuffed them into pillow cases giggling as we shoved into the back of the taxi arriving home with precious books and papers, diaries and moments from a  family forgotten.

One of the items found in the Richardson house, a bible with solid silver etched and painted cover, leather, wood and steel from the 1800's.

The Richardsons rich?

I always found it odd that the house had been abandoned, even  written reports of tuberculosis in the 60s did not equate to over 30 years of abandonment, or could it have it been? The floors disintegrating  and dirty syringes from squatters lay strewn. We did not even consider the dangers as we rummaged through debris with finds of papers so valuable in age, we had come from a minimalistic environments so each and every part of precious history here was facinating and intrinsically shown in each document found.
